Swallowing Difficulties
Swallowing difficulties, known as dysphagia, is where you have the sensation of a lump in the throat and may also have difficulties swallowing food or liquids. It may be caused by cancer of either the mouth, throat or oesophagus and Mr Jindal will arrange appropriate treatment.
Another possible cause is Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) where acid escapes from your stomach and enters the food pipe. This acid can cause problems in the oesophagus, voice box (larynx) and the vocal cords. Mr Jindal will first perform a thorough examination using a flexible endoscope and then will advise you on the appropriate treatment.
