Tonsillitis
Your tonsils are two small glands at the back of the throat. Tonsillitis is a viral or bacterial infection of the tonsils and is a common childhood complaint, but can also affect adults. Many cases of tonsillitis will clear up by themselves, but if you suffer from repeated infections or if the tonsillitis is persistent, you may be a candidate for surgery where the tonsils are removed.
Mr Jindal performs tonsillectomies on both adults and children under general anaesthetic as a day case. He uses standard cold steel dissection of the tonsils as he believes this has the lowest risk of primary and secondary bleeding and infections. Mr Jindal will explain the procedure in full at the consultation.
